Day Three - All About Under the Never Sky + Giveaway ( Int'l)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Book Profile
Name - Under the Never Sky ( Goodreads )
Author - Veronica Rossi
Genre - Dystopian
Release Date - 3rd of January 2012
Exiled from her comfortable home in the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland—known as The Death Shop—are slim. In Reverie, she spent time with her friends roaming virtual environments called Realms. But in The Death Shop, even the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He’s wild—a savage. He’s also her only hope for survival.
A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry sees Aria as sheltered and fragile—everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he also needs Aria’s help; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, they come together reluctantly, and embark on a journey challenged as much by their prejudices as by cannibals and wolves. Their unlikely alliance will forever change the fate of all who live UNDER THE NEVER SKY.
The Insider's Scoop
1. The original title for UNDER THE NEVER SKY was QUAL 8. Thankfully, that didn’t last long.
2. For some reason, all of my manuscripts all contain a character named after a bird of prey. In UTNS, Peregrine was the lucky one.
3. For research, I read a book called DINNER WITH A CANNIBAL, which was… wow. It was a crazy book.
4. I’ve always loved watching light refract on water – either on a lake, a swimming pool, the ocean. That was the primary inspiration for the Aether in UNDER THE NEVER SKY.
5. At one point, I considered telling the story from only Perry’s point of view, and then only Aria’s. I settled with alternating, which was how I had started it in the first place. You know what they say about trusting your gut!
Thanks so much for having me, Lisa! Still waiting for my plane ticket to Australia, though. You did send it…. Right? NOTE - Ehhhhh One for Brodie's suitcase right???
  103. The story itself is gripping and, honestly, quite addicting. I fell into the story quickly and my attention never wavered. Rossi is one of those authors who aren¿t afraid To Go There, and UNTS definitely goes there and a bit farther. The outside world beyond Reverie is relentless, hard, and unforgiving and the gritty, sometimes violent action and fighting scenes reflect this wonderfully.
