Enticed *Spoiler Free*

Review Time! This is the second book in the Violet Eden Chapters written by Jessica Shirvington who is an Australian Author! The first book is Embrace ( Review Here ) I'm having Jessica on the blog tomorrow for an interview AND we're giving away 10 sets of both Enticed and Embrace! TEN WINNERS! Thanks to Hachette for the review copy!

(Goodreads) Violet Eden is Grigori - part angel, part human. Her destiny is to protect humans from the vengeance of exiled angels.

Knowing who to trust is key but, when Grigori reinforcements arrive, it becomes clear everyone is hiding something. Even Lincoln. The only thing Violet does know: Phoenix's hold over her is more dangerous than ever.

The race to find the one thing that could tilt the balance of power brings them all to the sacred mountains of Jordan, where Violet's power will be pushed to the extreme. And the ultimate betrayal exposed.

The Short Story? - The plot keeps getting better and better! Picking up from where the story finished in Embrace, Enticed is a fantastic sequel to an exciting new series about our favourite mythical creatures! Angels ( and angel/human hybrids - Grigori!) !!! Action-packed, great characters and a refreshing new take on Angel Mythology. Get ready for Violet Eden, she's the next big thing!

The Long Story ? -  Quite frankly, I went thought this complete faze where I was obsessed with YA paranormal romance, I still adore PNR, it my genre of choice but I'm also reaching out to other genre now! The thing about The Violet Eden Chapters is that even though it's a PNR, it's quite normal. Violet has daddy issues, she still attends school, she's into art, she still takes exams and goes shopping even among all the chaos! I love how Jessica has combines essence of "human" even among all the action! Which brings me to my next point...

The action! I liked Embrace but I loved this one! Fast-paced, action packed and educational. Lots of research must have gone into this novel, mostly religious history but it's all so interesting! Jessica has weaved history with fiction, creating a whole new take on on "this" particular historical event! She's expanded on what was already fiction about "religion" and taken it to a whole new level. Apparently Lilith wasn't just the first vampire but the mother of the first angel/human hybrid! Twist and turns and a killer- ending! I don't think I can wait for the next one!

Jessica has also further developed the characters during Enticed. We see Violet growing up and becoming more mature. We see her question her actions and take care of the people she loves most. Lots of emotion developed with Lincoln ( main love interest ) as well. Jessica has also introduced new characters!!! Readers are introduced to a trio of Grigori from New York ( cute boys) and their mentors, the characters are the highlight of the novel for me!They make everything, so much more interesting!

I strongly encourage all you Aussie readers to pick up the Violet Eden Chapters and for all you international readers to keep an eye out for it! A heated love-triangle, action-packed storyline and a heroine you're sure to like, The Violet Eden Chapters are amazing! Looking for something unique? Pick Violet Eden!

Rating - 5/5

  18. I'm sold at more cute boys... No, just kidding (kind of.) This series is sounding better and better though! I like that the characterization has been upped and that the main character continues doing regular teenager stuff. I find it a little strange that other books have their characters one day drop everything. I mean, eventually they have to go back, right? What happens then? Thanks for the review!

  31. Hmmm... Cute boys <3 lol This series is sounding better everytime I read something about it! And I love fast-paced books, cause I'm not a very patient person ;D And the fact that the author further the characters is great, cause half the fun of a series is getting to know the characters better and to watch them grow and change! Great review!

  37. Seems like you enjoyed this one even more than the first book in the series! It's nice to see a character mature over the course of a series of books. It makes sense, because all the things that happen in the books formate them and make them different people, with new experiences which cause them to act in different ways.

You did a great job of making it spoiler free! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. How in the world did you make this spoiler free?! I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

  45. What a really good review, really want to read this series now!

  46. This review is great as it has me wanting to know more, just as a review should be stirring up interest.

  47. This just cements the fact that I want to read this series even more! Another great review from you ladies!! Both of you are amazing at giving a clear overview without the spoilers!

I love that Jessica is taking the religious doctrine to another level and twisting it around. I think, especially when you're dealing with angels, there is no going around the religious aspect, but embracing it and making it your own is a must!!!

    Thanks for the awesome review.
