Dream Debutante Dress -  I love the idea of picking out a deb dress. In fact, you so inspired me, I created a whole board on Pinterest. VIEW HERE Fantasy-wise, I think I’m going to go with this one:

I like how sleek and modern it is, and the contrast orange/red piping goes well with the LEVEL 2 cover.

Notes from a YA Debutante

Usborne is throwing me a launch party for the UK edition of LEVEL 2 in London on January 10, 2013, and I really do want to wear a white dress. Let’s see if I can find one IRL!

Sarah (Posh Deluxe) of Forever Young Adult has this great idea for a party where authors come dressed up like the models on their book covers. I think I could pull off the high ponytail, but probably not the tube dress.

Fun fashion fact from LEVEL 2: In LEVEL 2, Felicia wears a white shift like all the other drones.  In her memories, she wears more normal clothes – jeans and a sweater; a yellow sundress. There is one outfit that is different in the UK edition because my UK editor felt the outfit I chose for Felicia wasn’t in style in the UK.

But my favorite character to dress in LEVEL 2 was Mira, one of the rebels in LEVEL 2. I got my inspiration for her crazy outfits from my trip to Reykjavik, Iceland. Think shredded ballgown over a pair of skinny jeans.

Bookie's Note: Lenore you have honestly taken picking a dream debutante dress to a whole new level! The ones you've pinned are absolutely beautiful and I agree white with the orange piping matched the cover of Level Two perfectly! Best of luck with finding an actual debutante dress! :P

Make sure to come back tomorrow for the second half of Lenore's feature! We have some juicy secrets lined up and a fantastic giveaway!

  6. Very chic dress!

I loved the dress 3rd from the left in the top row! Not too formal/floaty in my opinion!

So jealous that Lenore has been to over 60 countries. I'm also super excited for Level 2 :)

  7. I can't wait for this book! And that's taking debut dresses to the second level (excuse the pun!) Nice quirk about the dresses too. Now I'm going to have to buy both editions to see the differences!

  9. Yes, that dress matches the cover perfectly!
And I love the snippet about the US/UK edition differences - it's always fascinating to compare and discover differences apart from the spelling.

  19. I agree with everyone else that it's really cool you picked a dress to go with your cover. It certainly is beautiful,I just shy away from those kinds of dresses since there's no way I'm pulling off the tube look. LOL

Congrats on getting your book published, I can't wait to read it.

  22. Yes, that dress totally matches the cover! Recently I read about how certain phrases were changed to match the local slangs between the US/Aus versions of the book. It's interesting to know that even clothing items get changed. o.o

  23. I love the dress and the shoes! Lol, I can't figure out which one I'd want more :)

  24. My deb dress (not that they would ever be dumb enough to let my clumsy, snorting butt be a deb) would be so not deb-like. They might have picked me, but they would kick me out once they saw the dress!
