Day Seven - All About...Elana Johnson ( Possession )

To be honest, I can't believe how fast this event as gone by we are already down to our last nine Debutantes! ( you're probably thinking, eh, you only had like twelve) This is the first really big event I have planned ( by myself) So I'm very happy with the way it's going and can wait to keep going anyway....

Author's Own Message ( ie when they talk about themselves :P)

I wish I could experience my first kiss again, tell the mean girl where to shove it, and have cool superpowers like reading minds and controlling fire. Using my boring human powers, I graduated from Southern Utah University with Summa Cum Laude honors in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics. I started my teaching career as an upper grade music and art specialist. After a four-year stint in 3rd grade, I am currently the technology specialist.

In my world, Oreos and bacon would be the only food groups. Everyone would drive 10 over the speed limit, and winter would be eliminated as a season. As it is, I live with my husband and two kids in central Utah, get cited when I drive too fast and eat Oreos only on special occasions.

I started writing to unload my emotional baggage, and it felt so good I didn’t stop! I’m not one of those “I’ve wanted to write since age eight” people, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

As for a dress, I’m not what you’d call fashionable. In fact, I need someone to nominate me for “What Not To Wear.” Therefore, I’m picking this frawesome pair of jeans to wear to the Debutante Ball. Rebel? Perhaps…

And you might be saying, “But Elana, those are men’s jeans.” And again, I’d remind you of my less-than fashion sense and urge you to call Clinton and Stacy, stat.

Thanks Elana! You know I never thought I would have a debutante who didn't pick a dress to where but a pair of jeans! ( men's jeans) but you know what? I love it! I guess you can't have a debutante ball without at least one rebel right Elana? :P

Badass Bookie xx

  25. Jeans are a great "dress". Being comfortable and being yourself are two things we need to teach young girls more about.

Congrats on the publishing of your first YA book; I'm very excited to read Possession!

  26. Haha great post! Totally loving the jeans for her ideal Debutante dress. She's a rebel and we love it :D

  27. I love What Not To Wear. It's funny too because I was just thinking to myself, why guy jeans and then it was answered. Oreos and bacon rock my socks but my life would be nothing without winter. Great interview!

  32. I wouldn't want to experience my first kiss again, I did tell the mean girl where to stick it (I still can't believe I did that) I would totally be in for the cool superpowers though.

  33. I think this would've been my answer to the perfect prom dress a few years ago as well but I kind of discovered that I can actually wear dresses, look good at them and feel good as well so you'd probably never catch me in jeans at a prom-like event.

    ReplyDelete
  34. your not alone Elana everyone want to tell the mean girl off.Jeans are trendy and comfortable. What a amazing intriguing interview!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jeans beat dresses any time, so comfy! I could wear mine 24-7. And yes, oreos, so many childhood memories.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I second you on oreos and bacon, although it wouldn't be too healthy.

    ReplyDelete
  37. At least Elana will be comfortable in her dream debutante dress :) Oh, and now I'm craving Oreos.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love this post, and your uniqueness! It's very inspiring. Thank you!
