In My Mailbox #9

Hey Guys! Since My Supernatural Showdown starts tomorrow I have decided to post my mailbox today! That way I can post both things! Since I got alot of books last week I decided to cut down this week and only got TWO books :P It was hard but I DID IT! BTW You can expect a review for Jealously by Lili St. Crow for next weekend, here's a hint though *whispers* It is absolutely amazing! Anyway...

1) A Little Wanting Song by Cath Crowley

I got this one because firstly it's a 2010 debut so I can put it towards the challenge and the cover is just amazinggg. The blurb sounds really sweet too, just a little worried that it's going to be one of those totally depressing novels but *fingers crossed*

Description- A summer of friendship, romance, and songs in major chords. . .

CHARLIE DUSKIN loves music, and she knows she's good at it. But she only sings when she's alone, on the moonlit porch or in the back room at Old Gus's Secondhand Record and CD Store. Charlie's mom and grandmother have both died, and this summer she's visiting her grandpa in the country, surrounded by ghosts and grieving family, and serving burgers to the local kids at the milk bar. She's got her iPod, her guitar, and all her recording equipment, but she wants more: A friend. A dad who notices her. The chance to show Dave Robbie that she's not entirely unspectacular.

ROSE BUTLER lives next door to Charlie's grandfather and spends her days watching cars pass on the freeway and hanging out with her troublemaker boyfriend. She loves Luke but can't wait to leave their small country town. And she's figured out a way: she's won a scholarship to a science school in the city, and now she has to convince her parents to let her go. This is where Charlie comes in. Charlie, who lives in the city, and whom Rose has ignored for years. Charlie, who just might be Rose's ticket out

2) Sapphique by Catherine Fisher

I read the first one Incarceron and found it just a tad slow and depressing but I'm willing to give this series a secod chance!

Description- Finn has escaped from the terrible living Prison of Incarceron, but its memory torments him, because his brother Keiro is still inside. Outside, Claudia insists he must be king, but Finn doubts even his own identity. Is he the lost prince Giles? Or are his memories no more than another construct of his imprisonment? And can you be free if your friends are still captive? Can you be free if your world is frozen in time? Can you be free if you don't even know who you are? Inside Incarceron, has the crazy sorcerer Rix really found the Glove of Sapphique, the only man the Prison ever loved. Sapphique, whose image fires Incarceron with the desire to escape its own nature. If Keiro steals the glove, will he bring destruction to the world? Inside. Outside. All seeking freedom. Like Sapphique

That's all for this week!

  2. I've heard that A Little Wanting Song IS a sad novel, but it should be really good. I can't wait to read that one. I love books that have at least something to do with music. :)

I haven't stepped aboard the Incarceron boat just yet. It's on my TBR, but TBH not that high up.
